Occupational Therapy Services for MichiganResidents

Our occupations are often thought of as our jobs or careers, but occupations are, more simply, the tasks that occupy our time. The ability to perform a range of daily tasks comfortably, confidently, and safely is an essential part of life. Occupational therapy helps clients to improve cognitive, physical, and motor skills. The improvement in these occupational skills often results in improved self-esteem and a sense of accomplishment. Our skilled team members offer a range of solutions and occupational therapy services in Michigan.

Our Occupational Therapy Approach

Our knowledgeable occupational therapists conduct evaluations to determine a clients’ skills for school and work performance as well as social engagement and daily activities. Following the evaluations, we compare the results to what is developmentally appropriate for the person’s age group. Then, we can work together to bridge the gap between where you are now and where you wish to be.

Why Would I Schedule Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy provides help for clients who want to work on fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. You can also schedule sessions with the goal of learning specific tasks like brushing teeth, tying shoes, and getting dressed. Whether you’re seeking help for your child to achieve a developmental milestone or you’re struggling with certain skills after an illness or accident, Learning Dreams can help you.

Clients with Physical Disabilities

For our clients with physical disabilities, we can teach the skills required for clients to complete a number of tasks independently. These skills include feeding themselves, using a computer, or improving handwriting legibility. We also perform evaluations to determine if there's a need for specialized equipment or communication aids to allow for adequate function.
